Book worms raise record takings
Somerset Mall hosted its first ever Charity Book Fair from the 25 to 28 June 2009 producing a staggering R180 000 for the 21 charities participating.
"We felt that the Book Fair was a novel way to support charities in the Cape Town Region as they all desperately need funds and community support. The mall provided for all advertising, bags and equipment which left the charities to focus on raising much needed funds. We are extremely happy with this year's Fair and we will definitely host it again next year," says Philippa Kruger Marketing Manager for Somerset Mall.
Charities participated in the event over a four day period at the end of June where all profits generated from the sale of books were for the benefit of the individual charities. |
