How to survive the aftermath of any party season

Survive & thrive the aftermath of any party season

There are so many reasons to celebrate in South Africa throughout the year. Are you currently feeling the effects of a bit of a festive time? Never fear! We have a few top tips on surviving the aftermath of extended periods of revelry. Here goes:

Declutter

There is nothing that will get you back on track quite as quickly as decluttering your space. Start by giving your home a thorough once-over. Go through your closets one by one and see if there is anything that a) isn’t useful or b) doesn’t bring you joy. If something falls into either or both of those categories, chuck it! Load up a box to donate to a Helderberg charity or find someone who can use your pre-loved items. Start by dropping off any unwanted or used shoes, book bags and stationery at our information kiosks so we can help underprivileged Helderberg school children.

Get Outside

If you’re one of the many South Africans who vowed to pursue a healthier lifestyle pretty much every Monday, now is the time to get creative with exercise. Living in the Helderberg, we have so many lovely options when it comes to being active – you can swim in the sea, hike in the mountains or go running in one of the area’s lovely parks. Invest in a pair of good trainers and see where the road takes you.

Plan Ahead

Life is more manageable when you know what lies ahead. Invest in a journal from Typo or get a home calendar from Exclusive Books. Alternatively, you could chat to the tech fundies at Incredible Connection to help you set up a digital calendar that the whole family can share!

Be Better

Try to adopt a new healthy habit. You could treat yourself to some health-boosting green tea from The Health Kick, or take up sudoku to keep your mind active with handbag-sized pads from PNA. Or maybe you’d like to treat your gran to coffee at Ambeans Beanery once a month to keep in touch. Whatever you do, just make sure that this new habit adds to your life and makes you happy.

These are just a few of the ways in which you can address the aftermath of any party season. Keep an eye on the blog in the coming weeks and months for more lifestyle inspiration.
